What Did He Say?

Josh Howard, who was taking part in Allen Iverson's celebrity football game in July, is at the center of a controversy for comments he made during the game's singing of "The Star-Spangled Banner."

"Star-Spangled Banner going on right now," Howard says to the camera. "I don't even celebrate that (expletive). I'm black."

Howard starts to say something about Democratic Presidential nominee Barack Obama, but the camera moves on to other players at the game

If listened to this like 4 or 5 times. I don't think he was endorsing Obama... I think what he was saying is that he doesn't celebrate that s**t (something something) Obama and all that.

First of all he's ignorant. So I instantly discount anything he says -- Second, even if he was support Obama and then poo pooed the Star Spangled Banner -- it wouldn't effect my supporting of Barack for president.

I agree though -- this is another example of another young person who just doesn't care... who doesn't get it... who will float through life because he gets paid a lot of money for a game.

I agree he is very ignorant, it is a shame we didn't get to hear the rest of what he had to say. In no way was this post intended to discredit Mr. Obama. It is more about the lack of respect Josh Howard has for the country which allows him to live the life he leads.
